Pocahontas and the Broadway Cast of Fun Home Coming to Orlando for One Night Only Benefit Performance

When I was studying musical theatre at Florida State University in the mid nineties, I was not a good singer. However, I went to lessons, listened to cast recordings and chosen two working professionals in the industry that I felt at that time had the "perfect" voice.
  1. Howard McGillan
  2. Judy Kuhn
One of them (hint: she's the voice of the Disney film Pocahontas) is coming to Orlando. The college version of myself is jumping up and down.

Kuhn and all nine cast members of the Broadway show she's currently in, Fun House, will be flying down to Orlando to perform a live benefit concert version of the show Sunday July 24th at Dr Phillips Performing Arts Center.

The show’s Tony® Award-winning creators Lisa Kron (Book & Lyrics), Jeanine Tesori (Music) and Sam Gold(Direction) will be in attendance.

This show closes on Broadway in September.

100% of the net proceeds of the performance will be divided in the following manner:
  1. 50% will be distributed directly to victims of their family
  2. 50% will support Equality Florida’s work to end discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity
Fun Home is able to fly to Orlando for this benefit performance because of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the producers and co-producers of Fun Home and the Wyndham Orlando.

The show is Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 10 a.m.

Tickets start at $30 and may be purchased online, by calling 844.513.2014 or by visiting the Dr. Phillips Center Box Office at 445 S. Magnolia Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday.
