Orlando's Average Annual Wage Decreased 6.9% Over Ten Years



According to a recent Metro Monitor report, Orlando/Kissimmee/Sanford area was number 9 on the list of the Best performing metropolitan areas by change in growth, 2010-2015. The gross metropolitan product grew by 12.1%, hiring by firms less that five years old rose by 28% and the number of jobs created rose 16.4%.

However, the average annual wage decreased 6.9% over those 10 years.

Also, Orlando did not place in the Top 20 cities for change in prosperity and only placed 16th on the Best and worst performing metropolitan areas by change in inclusion. Below are the causes for the 16th place ranking:
  1. productivity rose 7.3%
  2. average annual wage decreased 6.9% 
  3. standard of living rose 4.5%.
