In 2015 we told you that the Orlando Museum of Art wanted to move downtown into a new building "that morphs into the public square of art and ideas and is the place where people will want to gather."
In November 2016 we told you the ugly ass parking lot adjacent to the Dr Phillips Center for the Performing Arts would continue being an ugly ass parking lot for another 12 months.

On Wednesday, Growthspotter reported that this lot is one of several sites up for consideration as the new home for the Orlando Museum of Art; the developers (Tavistock) filed a zoning verification inquiry (as part of their Orlando Museum of Art site selection process) to build a 450,000 sq ft mixed use building & parking garage on the lot.
This spot would make sense because it would share a giant lawn with Dr Phillips making the area a hub for performing and visual arts. It's adjacent to the Aloft and Magnolia Anderson hotels as well.
