Doug Ba'aser is a longtime actor and personality in Orlando who currently runs a weekly event at The Parliament House he describes below. And he is FUNNEEE!!! If you see his name attached to anything, go see it! He is the Laura Hodos of alt/underground comedy. He agreed to answer five questions and shed a little itty bitty light onto who he is and what this event is all about.
1. Who are you?
Doug Ba'aser (but you really should know that....I am pretty well known)
2. What is this event you host every week at the Parliament House?
It is called Taylor's Fun House and it is a bit of trivia, a bit of game show, there is a wheel o' prizes and just really a bunch of happy hour fun in kind of a Frat House atmosphere.
3. Are only gay males allowed in?
NO! It is a little saucy sometime but women come all the time. Lots of theater people come out. David Lee, Elizabeth Murff, Frank McClaine and Roy Clements are all regulars.
4. Wanzie used to host this. Now you host it. Is he jealous? Are you bitter they didn't choose you first?
He never hosted it. He hosted BINGO on Tuesday but it got moved to Wednesday (which he still hosts) and I host the Fun House on Tuesday. There has never been any jealousy between Michael and I....we are both fully aware that I am the more talented.
5. What's one cultural event you're looking forward to that is not taking place at the P-House?
Well....I am not sure how cultural these are but THE EAGLES ARE COMING TO THE AMWAY AREANA!!! Pretty excited about that. Also, I am going again this year to see Neil Patrick Harris tell the Christmas story with the orchestra and mass choir at Disney.
