Lake Buena Vista based Amateur Athletic Union will be
hosting their
National Championship competitions again this year to Walt Disney
World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports. The
AAU National’s kickoff with gymnastics nationals June 12, 2013 and go till the
end of the basketball nationals August 6, 2013.
Over the course of the three months the nation’s top high school
basketball, baseball, volleyball, and track and field athletes will all come to
Central Florida to compete. Many of
these groups also add days at area theme parks to their trips. The National’s at ESPN Wide World of Sports
are well known as a scouting opportunity with many NCAA coaches and collegiate recruits
visiting the events. Past years have
featured such up and comers as LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Maya Moore.
