An Introduction. A Valentine's Recipe. And a Giveaway!

Hello there. I should probably introduce myself and explain what I'm doing here.  My name is Gabrielle or Gabi, whatever you like. And that is my hand pictured above. I have a food truck in town called La Empanada  and I also publish a recipe blog called Honest Fare. Perhaps you are familiar with one of those two projects, which would bring a giant smile to my face. Either way, I'm here as a new contribuiter on The Daily City, and you can give Mark Baratelli a giant hug for that next time you see him. Apparently he loves hugs.

The mission given to me on this blog is to share recipes with you on a regular basis, and hopefully you’ll be into them and I’ll stick around. I find it’s true that the best way to a person’s heart is indeed through their stomach, so things should work out between us.

And with Valentine’s Day next week, I figure why not start with a recipe for a sweet V-Day treat AND a giveaway from an artisan chocolate factory.

This is the recipe for Chocolate 'Lovanadas'

Yep, they’re basically a heart-shaped empanada filled with lovely chocolaty goodness. And yep, we’ll be serving them on the truck on Valentine’s Day so come on by and lovanada yourself.
