Chipotle Learning Garden in Orlando Displays Food With Integrity Principle in Physical Form

Chipotle is known for their “food with integrity” principle. Outside of the occasional commercial featuring farmers, most people don't realize what "food with integrity" really means.

To display this principle and educate the public,  the fast casual Mexican restaurant partners with community groups across the country to build ‘Learning Gardens,’ physical displays of these principles.

John Rife and A Local Folkus, creator of the Winter Park Harvest Festival, Winter Garden Harvest Festival and East End Market has partnered with the Chipotle on Orlando's first Chipotle learning garden at 11680 University Blvd.). The location is also visible from a nearby UCF off campus housing complex.

The garden is a partnership between A Local Folkus, My Yard Farm, and Chipotle. The new garden is to become both a community space and a reminder of the time and energy growing food requires.

Gardens at restaurants and hotels from which those businesses pluck fresh tomatoes and corn from is happening more frequently these days. The placement at a fast casual restaurant will most likely introduce the concept to a much larger audience, however.  85% of Americans visit a fast casual restaurant at least once a month, compared to only 82% for casual dining.
