Kappo Threatens to Close, Wins Their Case, Then Closes Anyway

In August, when the DBPR demanded Kappo build a sneeze guard onto the top of their serving bar and address all 28 of their Health Violations. Kappo lawyered up, refused to speak directly with the state agency, started an online petition and threatened to shut down.

The DBPR backed down and allowed them to operate without a sneeze guard.

They are the only restaurant in Orlando that serves uncooked food without this requirement.

Three months later they shut down anyway, saying they're looking for a new location for their restaurant. They will keep their spot in East End Market and operate it as a store.
